Restaurant bookings for small hotels

Your property management system handles rooms. It is usually terrible at restaurant tables. Tablez runs the dining room: dinner bookings from non-residents, tables for residents, breakfast sittings if you need them, and alerts to whoever is on the desk. Free to start, then £5 a month, paid yearly.

Works anywhere in the world, in your own time zone.

The dining room is a separate business

For a small hotel, inn or pub with rooms, the restaurant is often the profitable bit, and it depends on filling tables with people who are not staying. Those people need a way to book that does not involve ringing reception during check-in. At the same time, residents expect to be able to eat where they are staying, so you need to hold tables back for them.

Booking systems designed for standalone restaurants charge hotel prices for this, and the big platforms take a fee per diner. Tablez is free up to 60 bookings a month, £5 a month up to 150 and £15 up to 500, paid yearly, with no per cover fees at any level.

How hotels use Tablez

Non-residents book online

Put the booking link on your website, Google Business Profile and social pages. Non-residents pick a date and time and book a table like at any restaurant. Instant confirmation, or staff approved if you want to check the kitchen first.

Residents get tables held back

Cap the covers available online per service so there is always room for guests. Reception adds resident bookings by hand in the staff app at check-in, in a few taps, with the room number in the notes. Both sets of bookings sit on one list in time order.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday

Each day can have several services with their own hours, turn times and caps. Many hotels only take online bookings for dinner and Sunday lunch, and leave breakfast to be organised at check-in. That is a one minute setting.

Alerts to the desk and the kitchen

Install the staff app on the reception phone and the head chef's. Requests appear with a countdown and big accept and decline buttons. On Starter and above, push notifications reach every phone even when the app is closed, and you can have as many staff logins as you need.

Closures for weddings and functions

Close the restaurant for a date, or just the dinner service, when the room is booked for a function. The calendar shows it as unavailable and nobody books a table in the middle of a wedding.

Working anywhere

Tablez is built in the UK but it does not assume you are in the UK. Set your time zone and the booking page, confirmation emails and staff app all show local times. Guests booking from abroad see the times in your zone, not theirs, which is what they want for a dinner reservation. Prices are in pounds sterling and cards from any country are fine. When deposits launch they will show in your own currency.

Emails that look like yours

Confirmations include a calendar file, a manage link and a reminder the day before. On Starter and Pro you can send them from your own email address, so a guest sees "The Old Mill Hotel" in their inbox rather than a software company. Add your logo and accent colour to the booking page so it matches your website.

What Tablez does not do

It does not manage rooms, rates or channels; keep your PMS for that. It does not integrate with your PMS to pull resident names across automatically. It does not take deposits yet, though that is coming soon. It takes restaurant bookings, reliably, for a price that does not depend on how many people eat.

FAQ

Questions from hotels

Can I hold tables for residents?

Yes. Cap online covers per service below your total. Reception adds resident bookings by hand, and they use the tables you held back.

Can non-residents and residents see the same availability?

Non-residents see availability based on the online cap. Staff see everything. If you want residents to book online too, give them the same link, or leave it to reception.

Does it integrate with my property management system?

No. Tablez runs alongside your PMS rather than inside it. Resident dinner bookings are added by staff in a few taps at check-in.

We are outside the UK. Will it work?

Yes. Set your time zone and address and everything shows local times. Prices are in pounds and cards from any country are fine.

Can I run more than one restaurant?

Each Tablez account covers one venue today. Multiple venues under one login is coming soon on Pro, and groups can talk to us about an arrangement now.
