Quandoo is closing: here is what to do

Quandoo has announced it is shutting down. It stops taking new bookings on 30 September 2026 and closes for good on 31 December 2026. If your venue uses Quandoo, you need a replacement booking system, your existing bookings, and your customer list before then. This page walks through it.

Do this first: export your upcoming bookings and your customer list from Quandoo now, while you still can. Do not wait for the shutdown date. Once the service is gone, so is the data.

What the dates mean for you

Before 30 September 2026: Quandoo still takes bookings. Anything already booked for later in the year should still be honoured through the system until it closes, but do not rely on reminders and confirmations continuing to work smoothly during a wind down. From 30 September: your Quandoo widget and listing stop accepting new bookings. If your website still has the widget, customers will hit a dead end. 31 December 2026: everything goes, including your access to bookings and customer data.

The practical deadline is therefore 30 September. You want a new booking link on your website, Google and social before then, so there is no gap.

Step by step

  1. Export from Quandoo. Log in and export upcoming reservations and your guest list. If there is no export button, note upcoming bookings by hand and ask Quandoo support for your data; under UK and EU data protection law you are entitled to it.
  2. Sign up to Tablez. It is free up to 60 bookings a month with no card. Add your venue, opening hours and tables. About ten minutes.
  3. Enter upcoming bookings. Add them in the staff app so customers get a Tablez confirmation and a reminder the day before. Or send us your export and we will help.
  4. Replace the widget. Swap the Quandoo widget on your site for the Tablez embed. It is one line on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and everything else. Details on the widget page.
  5. Update your links. Google Business Profile reservation link, Instagram bio, Facebook action button, any menu QR codes. See Instagram and Facebook.
  6. Tell your regulars. A post and an email: "We have moved our bookings. Book at this link." Customers who used the Quandoo app will not find you there any more.
  7. Remove Quandoo. Once your bookings are moved, take the widget off your site and close the account, so nothing points to a dead service.

What about the marketplace?

Quandoo's app sent some venues diners they would not otherwise have had, particularly in cities. Tablez does not have a marketplace. If that channel mattered to you, the honest options are OpenTable or TheFork, both of which charge per diner for it. Many venues find that most of their Quandoo bookings were their own customers who searched for them by name, and that a direct link on Google gets those bookings back without fees.

Why Tablez is a safe place to land

Tablez is run by Kalchevo, a small UK web company, and built by people who run a pub. It is not funded to be sold, has no per cover fees, and the free plan is free for good. Paid plans are simply a year at a time. Your data is yours and exportable at any time, so if you ever need to move again, you can. The booking page works anywhere in the world, in your own time zone.

FAQ

Quandoo shutdown questions

Can I import my Quandoo bookings into Tablez?

There is no automatic import, because Quandoo's export formats vary. Add upcoming bookings by hand in the staff app, which for most venues takes under an hour, or send us the export and we will help.

Will customers who booked through Quandoo still turn up?

Their bookings still exist until Quandoo closes, but reminders may stop. Enter them into Tablez so they get a Tablez confirmation and a reminder the day before, and mark the source in the notes.

What happens to my Quandoo reviews?

They will disappear with the platform. Save screenshots if you want them, and ask happy customers to review you on Google instead, which is where new customers look anyway.

Is Tablez really free?

Yes, up to 60 bookings a month, forever. Starter is £5 a month for up to 150, Pro £15 for up to 500, both paid yearly. No per cover fees on any plan. See pricing.

Can I do this before 30 September?

Yes. Sign up today and you can be taking bookings on Tablez within the hour. Keep Quandoo running alongside until you have moved everything across.
