Why it is priced like this

Fair means fair for everyone

No per cover fees, ever

Some systems charge a fee for every diner they send you. A full Saturday can cost more than the software itself. Tablez is a flat price. Your busiest night costs exactly the same as your quietest.

A year at a time, paid up front

Paid plans run for 12 months, paid up front. They renew yearly and you can cancel before renewal from your dashboard. Free has no term at all. A year up front is what keeps the price at £5 a month, and it means no card on file every month. Your bookings stay yours and you can export them.

Why the limits exist

The limits are there so £5 stays £5 for everyone. A venue doing 400 bookings a month uses more email, more push and more support than one doing 40. Charging the busy venue a bit more is fairer than putting everyone's price up.

At the limit

What happens when you reach your monthly limit

Nothing dramatic. Your booking page politely asks customers to phone you instead for the rest of the month, and you get an email so you know it has happened. Staff can still add bookings by hand in the staff app. Nothing is deleted, no booking is lost, and no one is charged anything extra.

If it happens more than once, that is usually a sign you have outgrown the plan. Upgrade from your dashboard and the page opens up straight away. The count resets on the first of every month.

What counts as a booking: any booking created in a calendar month, online or added by staff, except ones that were cancelled. Declined requests count because your team spent time on them.

Which plan do I need?

  • Free: up to 60 a month. A cafe with a few tables, a pub that takes bookings for Sunday lunch, or anyone trying it out.
  • Starter: up to 150 a month, £60 a year. Most independent restaurants and pubs. Push alerts to staff phones are the reason most venues upgrade.
  • Pro: up to 500 a month, £180 a year. Busy town centre restaurants, bars with a big weekend trade, hotel restaurants open to non-residents.
  • Groups: more than 500 a month or more than one venue. Talk to us and we will invoice you yearly.

Figures for other systems are indicative starting points published on their own sites at the time of writing and will change. Per diner fees depend on where the booking came from. FAQ

Questions about pricing

Is the free plan a trial?

No. It is free for as long as you want it. There is no card to enter and nothing expires. The only differences from Starter are the 60 booking monthly limit, email alerts rather than push, one staff login, and a small "Powered by Tablez" line on the booking page.

What counts as a booking?

Any booking created in a calendar month, online or added by staff, except ones that were cancelled. Declined requests count because your team spent time on them. Covers do not matter: a table of 2 and a table of 12 are both one booking.

What happens when I hit the limit?

Your booking page tells customers to phone you for the rest of the month, you get an email, and staff can still add bookings by hand. Nothing is deleted. Upgrade and it opens up straight away.

Can I pay from outside the UK?

Yes. Prices are in pounds sterling and cards from any country are fine. Your bank will convert at its usual rate. Tablez itself works anywhere: set your time zone and everything shows local times.

Is VAT included?

All prices are in pounds sterling, excluding VAT. There is no VAT charged on Tablez at the moment. If that changes we will tell you at least 30 days ahead.

Is there a contract? Can I cancel?

Free has no term at all; use it for as long as you like. Paid plans run for 12 months, paid up front. They renew yearly and you can cancel before renewal from your dashboard, after which you drop back to Free at the end of the year and keep everything. We do not refund part years unless the law requires it.

Why yearly rather than monthly?

A year up front is what keeps the price at £5 a month. It saves us the cost of chasing failed card payments every month, and it means we do not keep a card on file to charge you monthly. Try the free plan first, for as long as you like, and upgrade when you are sure.

How do I upgrade or move between paid plans?

From your dashboard in the app. Upgrading from Free starts a new 12 month plan straight away. Moving from Starter to Pro mid year is charged for the remainder of the year; moving down applies at your next renewal.

Do you charge set up fees or per venue fees?

No set up fees. Each plan covers one venue. If you run more than one, Pro will soon let you manage several under one login, and groups can talk to us about one invoice for all of them.

I host with Kalchevo. Do I pay?

Kalchevo hosting customers get the Starter plan included. Send us a message and we will switch it on.
