Quandoo is closing on 31 December 2026: a 30-minute migration plan
Quandoo stops taking new bookings on 30 September 2026 and shuts down on 31 December 2026. If you use it, you have a few weeks to get a new booking link live and your data out. This is the plan, in order, with timings. Set aside half an hour.
Before you start (2 minutes)
Have to hand: your Quandoo login, your website login (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix or whoever built it), your Google Business Profile login, your Instagram and Facebook logins, and a phone for testing. If someone else manages your website, send them step 5 now so they are ready.
Step 1: export from Quandoo (5 minutes)
Log in to the Quandoo business portal. Export two things: upcoming reservations (everything from today onwards) and your guest list. If there is no export option in your account, take screenshots of upcoming bookings and email Quandoo support asking for a full export of your data. You are entitled to it under UK and EU data protection law, and asking early matters more than the format.
Step 2: create your Tablez venue (10 minutes)
Sign up. It is free up to 60 bookings a month with no card. Then:
- Venue name, address, time zone and contact details.
- Opening hours and services (lunch and dinner separately if you have both).
- Tables as groups: how many 2, 4, 6 seaters, plus named tables. Only add tables you want bookable.
- Turn times by party size. Copy what you had in Quandoo if you remember, or start with 90 minutes for 2, 2 hours for 4, 2 and a half for 6 plus.
- Cover cap per service and per 15 minutes, so a busy night stays sane.
- How bookings confirm: instant for small parties, staff approved for large ones. Live check for busy nights if you like.
- Accent colour and logo so it looks like you.
Make a test booking from your phone and confirm it arrives. The full set up guide has more detail on each setting.
Step 3: install the staff app (3 minutes)
On the phone behind the bar or pass, open the staff app link from your dashboard and add it to the home screen. Allow notifications. Do the same on the manager's phone. On the free plan alerts are by email; Starter at £5 a month, paid yearly, adds push notifications to every staff phone.
Step 4: enter upcoming bookings (5 to 20 minutes, depending)
Open the Quandoo export next to the Tablez staff app and add each upcoming booking: name, phone, email, party size, date, time, notes. Put "from Quandoo" in the notes. Each takes about 20 seconds. Fifty bookings is under twenty minutes. Customers get a Tablez confirmation email so they know the booking is safe, and a reminder the day before.
If you have hundreds, send us the export and we will help you load it.
Step 5: replace the widget on your website (5 minutes)
Find the page or button where the Quandoo widget lives and replace it with your Tablez embed code from the dashboard. One line:
<script src="https://tablez.uk/embed.js" data-venue="your-venue"></script>
Instructions for WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and everything else are on the booking widget page. If you would rather not touch the layout, change the "Book" button's link to your Tablez booking page instead.
Step 6: update your links (5 minutes)
- Google Business Profile: replace the reservation link with your Tablez link. If a Quandoo link appears that you did not add, ask Google to remove it.
- Instagram bio link.
- Facebook page action button and About section.
- WhatsApp Business profile.
- Email signature and any auto replies.
- Menu and window QR codes: reprint, or point the old code's short link at the new page if you used one.
See booking links for Instagram and Facebook.
Step 7: tell your customers (not in the 30 minutes)
A post on Instagram and Facebook: "We have moved our bookings. Book at [link]." An email to regulars if you have their addresses from the Quandoo export, with the same message. Customers who used the Quandoo app to book with you will not find you there after 30 September, so this matters more than it seems.
Step 8: close Quandoo (2 minutes, later)
Once every upcoming booking is in Tablez and the widget is gone, remove any remaining Quandoo code from your website and close your account, so nothing points at a dead service after 31 December. Keep your export.
What you will have at the end
A booking page at your own link, embedded on your site and linked from Google and social. Upcoming bookings safe, with confirmations and reminders going out. A staff app that alerts your team. No per cover fees, and the free plan is free for good. If you outgrow 60 bookings a month, Starter is £5 a month, paid yearly.
