How to take a gift voucher as payment
A guest wants to pay with a gift voucher, on paper, on their phone or in an email. You look up the code, take off what they spend, and the rest stays on the voucher.

Take a voucher
- Press Gift vouchers in the menu, under Events and money.
- Under Take a voucher, type the code. It looks like GV-7KQ2-M4XD. Press Find. If you are logged in on your phone, you can also scan the QR code on a printed voucher with the camera.
- Check the voucher. You will see its value, what is left, whether it is Ready to use, and when it expires.
- Type what the guest is spending in Take off (£) and press Take this amount. To use everything left, press Use all.
- You see a message such as how much is left on the voucher. Put the payment through your till as normal.
If the voucher will not work
If Tablez says no voucher has that code, check the letters and try again. Do not guess. If the voucher shows as used up, expired or cancelled, do not take it. Tell a manager. If a voucher shows as Not paid yet, the online payment has not gone through yet, so ask a manager before you accept it.
Sold one at the bar?
- On the Gift vouchers page, scroll to Add a voucher sold in person.
- Type the Value (£) and who it is from and for. Add a note such as "Paid cash at the bar".
- If the guest gives an email, leave Email the voucher to them ticked.
- Press Add voucher. It now has a code and a balance like any other.
Take the money through the till yourself. Tablez only records the voucher. It does not take the payment for an in person sale.
What only the owner can do
Cancelling a voucher and changing its expiry date are for the owner. If a guest asks for either, take their details and pass it on.

Can a guest use part of a voucher?
Yes. The rest stays on the voucher for next time.
A guest lost their voucher email. Can I help?
Open the voucher and use Email it again. Ask a manager first if you are not sure the guest is who they say they are.
I took the wrong amount. What now?
Tell a manager straight away. Each use is recorded on the voucher with your name.
I cannot see Gift vouchers in the menu.
Gift vouchers are on the Pro plan. If your venue does not have it, the menu item shows a padlock.
