Is my guests data safe with Tablez?

Tablez keeps booking details on UK servers, does not sell them and uses no advertising trackers. As the venue, you are responsible for how you use your guests details. This is general information, not legal advice.

Quick answer. Tablez is the processor and you are the controller. Keep logins private, switch on two-step login, and only email guests who agreed to hear from you.

What Tablez holds

For each booking: name, email, phone, party size, date and time, any request or allergy note the guest chose to give, and the IP address of the booking, which is used to stop spam. Servers are in the UK, run by Kalchevo. Our privacy policy has the detail.

Who is responsible for what

Under data protection law, you are the controller of your guests details, because you decide why you hold them. Tablez is the processor, looking after them for you. Check the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) to see whether you need to register and what you must tell guests. This is not legal advice.

What you can do

  • Give each person their own login and tick only the access they need under Staff logins. Remove logins when people leave.
  • Switch on two-step login under Account.
  • Use guest details for bookings. Only email offers to guests who ticked to hear from you. See mailing guests an offer.
  • Keep allergy notes for service, not for anything else.

If a guest asks you to delete their details

Tell them you will sort it, then email [email protected] and we will help.
