Watch: End of Shift Checklist
A five minute checklist for the end of your shift: bookings, tables, notes, vouchers and logging out. 78 sec
The checklist
- Clear Today. Open Today. Every booking should be Arrived or No show, not still Confirmed. Mark the rest, after ringing if you can. Read the card hold warning in the arrived and no show guide first.
- Check Waiting for a reply. In the staff app, the box under Waiting for a reply should be empty. If a request is left, accept or decline it, or tell the next shift.
- Free the tables. On the floor plan, no table should be left Seated after everyone has gone. Press Finished, free the table and clear any Needs cleaning flags once wiped down.
- Look at tomorrow. Press the right arrow in the staff app, or open the Day view for tomorrow. Note big parties, allergies, events and anything marked VIP or Birthday.
- Check the waitlist. If your plan has it, open Waitlist. Remove people who have been sorted, and pass on anyone who still needs a call.
- Add guest notes. If a guest had a great night, a bad one, or told you something useful, add it to their guest profile under Notes for the team. It shows on every booking they make. Guests are on Standard and above.
- Take vouchers off. If you took gift vouchers, check each one was taken off in Tablez, so the balance matches.
- Orders. If your venue uses Order and Pay, check the screen has no orders left on New or Being made. Tell the owner about any cancelled paid orders that need a refund.
- Switch off live check. If you turned live check on for your shift and nobody else is watching, switch it off.
- Log out. Press Log out, especially on a shared tablet or phone.
Leave a note for the next shift
Tablez does not have a shift diary, so use your usual handover book or message. Include anything unfinished: a guest who needs a call back, a booking to sort a table for, or a voucher query.
Managers only
If you have Reports access, the Orders page has an End of day report, and the Reports page shows the numbers. Ordinary staff logins do not see these.

FAQ
Questions fréquentes
Do I have to do all of this?
Use what applies to your venue. Some items need a paid plan, so skip any you do not have.
What if I forget to mark someone arrived?
You can still do it the next day. Open the booking and press Mark arrived. Tell a manager if there was a card hold.
Why log out?
Everything you do is recorded under your name. On a shared device, logging out stops someone else acting as you.
Who sees what I note on a guest?
Everyone on the team. Keep notes factual and polite, as the guest could one day ask what is held about them.
