Two-step login and Sign in with Google
Your dashboard holds guest names, phone numbers and your takings. A password alone can be guessed or stolen. A second lock takes two minutes and means a stolen password is not enough.
How to turn on two-step login
- On your phone, install Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Both are free.
- In the dashboard left menu, under Account, click Account.
- Find the Two-step login box and press Set up two-step login.
- In the app, tap +, choose Scan a QR code and scan the one on screen. If you cannot scan it, choose "Enter a setup key" and type the key shown underneath.
- Type the 6 digit code the app shows into the box and press Turn on two-step login.
- Save the backup codes that appear. Print them or keep them in a password manager. They are only shown once.
From now on, after your password you will be asked for a code from the app. If you lose your phone, type one of your backup codes instead. Each works once. If you also have a login at another venue with the same email address, it is switched on there too, so the venue switcher never steps around it.
Need new backup codes, or want it off?
On the same box, press Make new backup codes. To turn it off, open Switch it off and type a current code from your app to confirm.
Sign in with Google
If it is switched on for your Tablez, the Log in page has a Continue with Google button under the password box. You do not set anything up in the dashboard.
- It only logs in to accounts that already exist, using the same email address.
- Google must have confirmed that email address is yours.
- If you have two-step login on, you still type your code after Google.
- If there is no Tablez account for that email, you are sent to the sign up page.

FAQ
Questions people ask
What if I lose my phone?
Type one of your backup codes instead of the 6 digit code. Each works once. If you have none, contact us and we will switch it off once we know it is you.
Does it cost anything?
No. Two-step login is free and optional on every plan, and the authenticator apps are free too.
Do my staff need it?
It is switched on for each login separately. You turn it on for yours from your Account page.
I do not see the Google button.
Sign in with Google needs to be switched on for the platform. You can always log in with your email and password.
