Ticking guests off as they arrive keeps your records right, and it only takes a tap. Here is how. On Today, find the booking and press Open. When the guests walk in, press Mark arrived. The booking is marked as arrived, and it helps the owner see who really turns up. You can also do it from the floor plan. Tap the table, and press Seat them. Then it shows as seated for everyone on shift. If a guest does not turn up, wait a sensible time. Many venues give fifteen minutes, but ask your manager what yours does. Try ringing them first, using the Call button. If you cannot reach them, press No show. Be careful with card holds. If a booking has Charge and Release card hold buttons, pressing No show charges their card straight away. Check with a manager first. You can see a deposit or hold under Payment in the booking details. Open the booking and press Back to confirmed. That puts the status back, but it does not give back a card charge. A manager or the owner needs to refund that. That is arrived and no show in Tablez.
Marking someone arrived
- Find the booking on Today and press Open.
- Press Mark arrived.
In the staff app it is quicker. Each booking has an Arrived button and a No show button right on the card. On the floor plan, tap the table and press Seat them.
When to mark a no show
Wait a sensible time. Many venues give 15 minutes, but ask your manager what your venue does. Try ringing the guest first, using the Call button on the booking. If you cannot reach them, press No show. Marking it frees the owner from guessing who did not turn up, and it shows on that guest's history.
Watch out: card holds
If the booking has a card hold (it shows Charge and Release card hold buttons on the booking), pressing No show charges the guest's card straight away. Tablez shows a message telling you the amount taken. Check with a manager before you do this, especially if the guest has rung to say they are on the way. You can see whether a booking has a deposit or hold under Payment in the booking details.
Made a mistake?
Open the booking and press Back to confirmed. In the staff app press Undo. This puts the status back. It does not give back a card charge. A manager or the owner needs to refund that.

FAQ
Common questions
Do I have to mark everyone arrived?
It is best if you do. It keeps the records right and helps the floor plan. If your team forgets, ask the owner how they want to handle it.
Does No show always charge the guest?
No. It only charges if the booking has a card hold on it. Bookings with no hold are just marked.
Does the guest get a message when I mark a no show?
No. Marking a no show does not send the guest anything.
Can I mark a booking arrived before the day?
No. Only confirmed bookings can be marked. Pending requests need accepting first.
