Setting your turn times right
A turn time is how long a table is held for a booking. Get it wrong one way and tables sit empty. Get it wrong the other way and people are stood at the bar waiting for a table that is still being used.
Watch: Set Your Turn Times Right
Hold tables for the right time by party size, so you neither lose covers nor double book. 60 sec
What the starting numbers mean
Out of the box, Tablez holds a table for 90 minutes for parties up to 2, 120 minutes for parties up to 4, and 150 minutes for bigger groups. Once the time is up, the table can be booked again. Those are sensible for a restaurant. A pub where people linger over drinks may need longer. A quick lunch trade may need less.
How to find the right number
Watch two or three busy services. Note when each size of party actually leaves. Do not guess from memory, because the nights that stick in your mind are the awkward ones. Then set the turn time a little over the usual, not the longest case.
Think about the different rows
You can add as many rules as you like. A pub might want 60 minutes for 1 to 2 people at lunch, a longer time for a roast, and a longer time again for a party of eight. Leave up to blank on the last row to cover everything bigger.
Related settings
Turn times work with the Time slots every setting in Booking rules (15 or 30 minutes), and with Last booking in Opening hours. Staff can always give a table longer on the day, so you do not have to set the longest case for everyone.

الأسئلة الشائعة
أسئلة شائعة
Can I have different turn times for lunch and dinner?
Turn times go by party size, not by service. If you need different lengths, set the rows by party size and watch a few services.
Will a longer turn time reduce my bookings?
It can, because each table is held for longer. That is why it is worth measuring rather than guessing.
Can I give a table longer on the night?
Yes. Staff can always give someone longer on the day.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. Turn times are on every plan.
