How to build your menu for Order and Pay

Sections come first

Sections are the headings on your menu: Starters, Mains, Puddings, Drinks. Each section is set to be made by the Kitchen or the Bar. That is how food goes to the kitchen screen and drinks go to the bar screen.

Want a head start on drinks?

Press Add the starter drinks list. It adds about 50 common drinks (lager, cider, wine, spirits, soft drinks, tea and coffee) with sample prices. Change the prices to yours and remove anything you do not sell.

Add your sections and items

1. Press Menu in the left hand menu, under Events and money.
2. At the bottom, under "Add a section", type a name like Starters. Under "Made by" pick Kitchen or Bar, then press Add section.
3. Press Add item in a section. Type the name, check the section, add a short description if you like, and put the price in pounds, like 12.50.
4. Under Sizes you can fill in up to 4, for example Pint 5.20 and Half 2.70, or 125ml, 175ml and 250ml for wine.
5. Under Choices you can add up to 3 groups, for example Mixer: Lemonade, Cola, Tonic. Put a price after a plus sign for extras, like Peppercorn sauce +2.50. Tick Must pick one when they have to choose, like how a steak is cooked.
6. Tick every one of the 14 allergens the item contains. They show on the menu and on the kitchen ticket.
7. Under More details you can add calories and weight, let customers add a note like "no onions", and tick Over 18s only for alcohol. Customers then confirm they are 18 or over before paying.
8. Press Save, or Save and add another to keep going.

You can also set the Diet label to Vegetarian or Vegan. Use the up and down arrows to put sections and items in the order you want.

Sold out? Do not delete it

On the Menu page, each item has a button that says On. Press it and it changes to Sold out, and the item is hidden from customers until you press it again. Handy for when the last portion of scampi goes.

Show it on your booking page

Under Settings, Order and Pay, tick Show the menu on your booking page. People can then see what you serve, with prices and allergens, before they book. This works on every plan and does not take orders.
